Every day, more than 500 million plastic straws are discarded in the U.S. Plastic straws often end up on beaches and in waterways, where they are one of the top 5 items found, according to Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup data.
Plastic straws are just one of many single-use plastics which end up in the ocean, polluting the water and harming sea life. Next time you are offered a plastic straw, just say no.
