All survivors of sexual assault deserve the chance to heal and seek justice regardless of when the abuse occurred or their age at the time of abuse. The Adult Survivors Act (ASA) recently passed in New York State provides that path to justice for survivors who were assaulted at age 18 or older to pursue a civil lawsuit in the courts. No longer can unfair statute of limitations impact the right of survivors to obtain justice against the person who caused them harm.
