About this PSA

While GrowNYC operates 26 year-round Greenmarket farmers markets throughout New York City, in the middle of spring, the non-profit organization begins opening their seasonal Greenmarkets and Farmstands. Most of these seasonal food access sites remain open until Thanksgiving. This is why the time between mid-spring through late fall is known as farmers market season. It’s a wonderful time of year to find a bounty of delicious and fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the city, all grown by farmers in the region.

About the Organization

Created in 1970, GrowNYC empowers all New Yorkers to pursue a clean and healthy environment through environmental and food access programs that transform communities block by block. Serving 3,000,000 people annually across the five boroughs, the nonprofit prioritizes services to areas that need it most, ensuring all city residents have the same access to fresh food, green space, and clean air.
