GrowNYC’s ‘Grow Your SNAP’ campaign is a citywide initiative designed to increase SNAP usage at farmers markets. The campaign addresses a critical gap: while 1.8 million New Yorkers could be maximizing their SNAP benefits at markets, less than half currently do.
By shifting perceptions and improving awareness, this campaign positions Greenmarkets as an accessible, affordable, and high-value grocery option for SNAP shoppers while simultaneously strengthening regional farm economies.
