Since 1976, GrowNYC Greenmarket has promoted regional agriculture and ensured a continuing supply of fresh, local food into New York City. The nonprofit celebrates the 49th year of "farmers market season" by offering opportunities for New Yorkers access to healthy fresh food and vital revenue for regional producers in the Northeast through 45+ Greenmarkets between May and November. It’s a wonderful time of year to find a bounty of delicious and fresh fruits, vegetables, and more throughout the city, all grown by producers in the region.
Founded in 1970, GrowNYC is an environmental 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a sustainable and more resilient New York City, touching the lives of 3 million New Yorkers with essential environmental programs, including equitable access to fresh, locally grown food, neighborhood green spaces, waste reduction, and environmental education.
